PrintBench Staff Requirements
Team Bench Requirements:  The following steps are required for a Coach, Trainer or On Ice Helper to be permitted to be on the Bench or ice after the CYO set deadline. All steps must be completed. If you have any questions contact your Head Coach or the Parish Leader. Any special guest that would be on the ice at a practice is considered to be an On Ice Helper. Example:  You have an expert in goal tending who is not connected with CYO that is going to work with your goalie. He/she must get the On Ice Helper minimum certification listed below.

NOTE:  If you require a Level 1 Trainers Refresher Course then follow the Trainers Course link below, then the instructions and then select Online Level 1 Refresher Course.

IMPORTANT
:  The year that your Trainers Certification expires you can opt for the Level 1 Refresher Course which is shorter and less expensive. However if your Trainer Refresher Course is not successfully completed by 31 August on the year that it expires then you may be required to complete the full Level 1 Trainers Course.


A. Coaching Requirements:

1.  The Alliance Coaching Qualification Course. This link shows the minimum level of coach certification required for each division as well as level of play such as House League, MD, A, AA & AAA.

Once you are on the Alliance Hockey website put your cursor over Coaches and then move your cursor over Clinic Information. Click on Clinic Registration and then go on from there to register.


NOTE 1:  If you have a valid, current OMHA Coaching Certificate then it can be converted to an Alliance Coaching Certificate for a nominal fee without you having to take an Alliance run Coaching course.

NOTE 2:  If you attend an OMHA Coaching Course ensure that you make them aware that you are with Alliance so that you get the Alliance Coaching Certification.
 
2.  Respect-in-Sport Activity Leader/Speak Out Certification (for Bench Staff).  This is an online course available on the Alliance Hockey website.

3.  Police Check (CYO specific). The form is available at the CYO Office. The applicant must submit this form to the Niagara Regional Police station (Records Department) in person.

B. Trainer Requirements:

1.  The Alliance Level 1 Trainers Certification is available online on the Alliance Website.

Once you are on the Alliance Hockey website put your cursor over Trainers and then move your cursor over HTCP Clinics and then click on your selection on the type of level 1 Trainers Course, Classroom or online.

NOTE 1
:  If you have a valid, current OMHA Trainers Certificate then it can be converted to an Alliance Trainers Certificate for a nominal fee without you having to take an Alliance run Trainers course.
